Squash at Maesteg Sports & Social Club

Maesteg Sports & Social Club has 3 squash courts available for all to use. Squash can be played all year round and can be played by all ages and all abilities. All you need is a racket, squash ball and some comfortable sports clothing. Squash is a great upper and lower body workout, strengthening muscles and burning up to 800 calories per hour. We have two Squash Teams who play in the Mid Glamorgan and South Wales leagues and are always looking for new players to join.

In our friendly club we have squash courts to hire for all. If your looking to play and don’t have anyone to play, don’t worry as we have club nights on a Monday and Saturday where you can play others. This is a great way to get used to playing different abilities and different squash styles and help improve your game. It is a way to meet  new people and squash also has a great social aspect having a drink in the bar after or having social events in the club.

Head Coach

The Head Coach is Sally Davis with 10 years plus coaching experience who is a qualified Level 2 coach through Squash Wales. She is DBS checked, insured through Squash Wales and First aid qualified. Sally has represented Wales in The Home Nations Masters tournament and is the Club Coach of the year in the Squash Wales annual awards 2019.

Junior Section

We have a junior section who represent the club in beginner leagues with other clubs in South Wales. Some of our juniors also play in the adult leagues around South Wales. Our junior squash coaching is on a Sunday night for beginners, intermediates and advanced groups. All equipment can be provided for juniors to join our coaching sessions.

Ladies Squash

We have ladies coaching on a Sunday evening with all standards welcome. Whatever level or standard you are, Ladies squash is fun and very enjoyable and a great way to keep fit. We can provide all equipment required for you to try out squash.
